Top-ranked 2018 running back Zamir White announced his commitment to Georgia on Tuesday.
White is the latest in a long line of North Carolina prospects who have opted to play in the SEC, among them former Tennessee quarterback Heath Shuler, who was the 1993 SEC Player of the Year after a sterling prep career at Bryson City (N.C.) High, and former Florida quarterback Chris Leak, who started for four years with the Gators and helped them win the 2006 national title after starring at Charlotte’s Independence High.
The SEC has continued to nab prospects from the Tar Heel State.
