After last season’s struggles, Auburn needed a quarterback. Many thought that John Franklin III was the answer to the Tigers’ struggling offense.
But despite Auburn giving Franklin every chance to win the starting job, his inability in the passing game never brought that to fruition.
While showing ability as a runner, Franklin, a junior, never blossomed into a good enough passer to warrant the Tigers starting him this fall, and now he looks like he could be on his way out after just one season.
Instead, Sean White retained his job as starter for the Tigers since the opening game of the season, even with Franklin receiving opportunities at various times throughout the season.
