Auburn signed a truly phenomenal football recruiting class. Despite the poor record, coaching turnover, and apparent instability, it is perhaps the finest class in Auburn history as the coaching staff addressed NEEDS instead of WANTS and managed to land some of the very best at the need positions.
Nate Craig-Myers, Kyle Davis, and Elijah Stove made the most collective noise, thanks to now-departed coach Dameyune Craig, but landing Derrick Brown created some stir. Despite being from Georgia, Brown dealt with the hype over the newly resurgent Bulldog program, the helicopters, and the fanfare, and decided on Auburn. Coach Garner was Brown’s lead recruiter and landed a star.
