Walk-off homer in 11th sends Auburn to losers' bracket at NCAA Regionals

Auburn starting pitcher Cole Lipscomb allowed six runs (three earned) in 5 2/3 innings Friday. The Tigers lost to the College of Charleston, 7-6, in 11 innings in the first game of the Tallahassee Regional.

In the end, only one sophomore got his way.

Roper, the Cougars' sophomore catcher, blasted a walk-off, solo home run in the 11th inning Friday afternoon off Yarbrough to drop the third-seeded Tigers, 7-6, in the opening game of the NCAA College Baseball Regionals.

Yarbrough (0-2) was an out away from three perfect innings of relief before the blast -- and then he had to watch helplessly as Roper trotted around the bases and was mobbed by teammates at home.
