COLUMBIA, Mo. - Auburn's volleyball team came within inches of ending Missouri's undefeated run at home, but Mizzou pulled out a five-set win (25-14, 19-25, 25-21, 15-25, 11-15) Sunday afternoon at the Hearnes Center.
It was the third-straight five-set defeat for Auburn (12-10, 4-6 SEC), all coming on the road in SEC play. All told, Auburn has played nine five-set matches this season, with four of them coming in the last five contests. Missouri (20-3, 8-2 SEC) improved to 9-0 at home this season and won its second-straight five-setter.
"I felt like we gave great effort," Auburn head coach Rick Nold said.
