MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Breanna Barksdale matched a career-high with 14 kills to lead the Auburn volleyball to a 3-0 sweep at Memphis (25-23, 25-22, 25-12) Friday night at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
Auburn (6-2) picked up its second sweep of the season and its first true road victory over Memphis (5-3), who kept the match very competitive throughout the first two sets with a loud home crowd of 951 fans.
"Memphis was a tough opponent," Auburn head coach Rick Nold said. "I thought we did a good job of playing a little simpler defense to give us some opportunities to push a little faster tempo.
