COLUMBIA, S.C. - No. 44 Auburn women’s tennis fell 4-0 to Alabama in the second round of the SEC Tournament at the Carolina Tennis Center Thursday morning.
The Tigers (16-13) faced a quick turnaround after battling through rain and multiple stoppages in play on Wednesday to advance to the second round. Thursday’s match against Alabama (17-6) was played indoors due to more rain in the Columbia, S.C., area forcing both teams to begin the match with singles play.
Alabama’s No. 62 Danielle Speilmann defeated Auburn’s Emily Flickinger, 6-2, 6-0, in the first match off court.
