W. Tennis. No. 12 Auburn drops tough road match to No. 6 Vanderbilt, 4-3


AUBURN, Ala. -- No. 12 Auburn women’s tennis (20-6, 8-4 SEC) dropped a heartbreaker on the road to reigning national champions No. 6 Vanderbilt, 4-3.

Auburn women’s tennis jumped out to an early lead after taking the doubles point. Andie Dikosavljevic and Alannah Griffin got things started, beating Frances Altick and Astra Sharma, 6-2.

No. 17 Pleun Burgmans and Alizee Michaud clinched the doubles point for the Tigers, defeating No. 11 Courtney Colton and Sydney Campbell, 6-3.

No. 38 Michaud handed No. 21 Frances Altick of Vanderbilt her first loss of the dual-match season, winning 6-4, 6-4 on court two.
