AUBURN, Ala. –After an exciting Friday night in Auburn Arena, the Auburn gymnastics team stands eighth nationally in the most recent rankings with an average score of 196.357.
The Tigers are coming off an historic win over rival Alabama Friday, defeating the Crimson Tide for the first time since 1979 in front of a sellout crowd. Auburn’s win came down to the final floor performance and with a 9.925 from senior Caitlin Atkinson, the Tigers bested Alabama, 197.275-197.250. That total was a season-high score.
"It was a great win against Alabama, but in the end the score is what counts right now,” head coach Jeff Graba said.
