Former Auburn women’s golfer Cydney Clanton secured full status on the LPGA Tour for the 2016 season, and three other former Tigers completed all 90 holes at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, which concluded Sunday in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Clanton finished in a tie for sixth place in the 157-player field, posting rounds of 67-70-69-72-73=351 (-9) over the 90-hole event to earn full status on the LPGA Tour for the 2016 season. It was a bit of redemption for the 2011 Auburn graduate as she missed conditional status by one shot at last year’s qualifying tournament.
Clanton finished 130th on the LPGA official money list in 2015, playing in nine events.
