Johnson, a 5-7 guard, is in her senior season at Austin High School in Decatur. She has also played for the Alabama Southern Starz and Georgia Hoopstars in summer competition.
“It is truly exciting to sign an Alabama player,” Williams-Flournoy said. “One of our goals this year in recruiting was to keep our top recruits at home in the state of Alabama. Tyra is a great scoring guard and will truly explode in our transition offense.”
Williams is rated the nation’s 24th-best point guard by ESPN HoopGurlz. She was a first-team all-state selection in class 6A as a junior and was named the Decatur Daily’s Player of the Year.
