What just happened was Tennessee hiring Penn State’s Bob Shoop to become the Vols’ next defensive coordinator.
This is the same Bob Shoop who reportedly wouldn’t even pick up the phone to talk to Auburn when the Tigers repeatedly reached out to him to discuss their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Gus Malzahn wasn’t the first coach to come after Penn State DC Bob Shoop and won’t be the last. Shoop’s enough of a commodity to be choosy.
