When the Auburn track and field team steps into the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday afternoon there will be a different feel in the air when competes in the first-ever Conference Clash.
When the Tigers line up, their teammates will not only be wearing orange and blue uniforms with “Auburn” across their chest, but will be wearing uniforms of seven different teams from the Southeastern Conference.
The Conference Clash will feature 15 teams from the power five conferences in a scored meet. That’s right. Scored like a dual meet.
Representing the SEC will be eight programs: Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, that will face off against seven teams from the remaining power five conferences.
