COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Freshman Brenda Kigen led the way for the Auburn women’s cross country team on Friday at the SEC Championships, finishing fourth with a time of 19:58.1. Kigen’s finish is the best by an Auburn female since 2010, when Holly Knight placed second.
“Brenda had an amazing performance,” head coach Mark Carroll said. “To finish in fourth place in the most competitive conference as a freshman is absolutely spectacular. We had a strong performance by the women’s team to improve on last year’s finish. Redatu (Semeon) had a great run to finish in the top-20 and Reilly (Shaw) ran well too for the men.
