If you missed Saturday’s Iron Bowl of Basketball, you did yourself a disservice. Auburn welcomed a Crimson Tide team that was 4–1 in the SEC and 11–6 overall. The Tide are a team that has trended significantly upward in its two years under coach Avery Johnson. Alabama has been steady under Johnson, and many crowned the Tide as the fourth best team in the SEC. The Crimson Tide plays great defense. They play smart. More than anything, they are a very consistent team, even if they don’t have top-tier talent… yet.
Overlooked were the Tigers. It is true that Auburn is young, a fact uttered so many times it is getting very, very old.
