“It was a long day at the yard, with the games we have to make up,” Auburn head coach Sunny Golloway said. “We tried to squeeze (these games) in because we are getting so much rain. I thought it was going to be taxing on our guys physically. I thought the way we came out and competed showed some mental and physical toughness.”
In the first game, which began at 2 p.m., Robert drove in three runs — a career high — and Anfernee Grier went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Auburn batted around in the seventh inning as it scored six runs with the big hit being a three-run home run by Robert.
