Seven-footer Luke Kornet entered Tuesday night’s contest with Auburn having played in only two games in 2016, thanks to a torn MCL. In his third game back since the early December injury, he played 37 minutes and logged the second triple-double in Vanderbilt history.
Even more impressive for Vandy was that Wade Baldwin was just a few rebounds short of beating Kornet to the feat. The sophomore needed to miss three straight free throws in the last minute before sinking a bucket at the 39-second mark.
Vandy was the last SEC team without a conference win but ended a three-game slide in the SEC by beating an Auburn team coming off of back-to-back conference losses.
