Auburn had four commitments not sign early back in December. Two of those prospects chose to wait themselves so they could take official visits. One misunderstood the early signing process. Only 3* S Kolbi Fuqua was asked by the staff to wait. That sent up red flags about whether or not the young man would be apart of this signing class. The Auburn coaching staff wanted to make sure that his shoulder would be recovered by fall practice and if not they would ask him to grayshirt. There is also the implied reason that Auburn might want to keep an extra spot open in case the hit on a bigger name.
