Former Auburn All-America swimmer Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace finished fifth with a time of 24.44 in the finals of the 50m freestyle as the competition concluded at the FINA World Championships on Sunday at Kazan, Russia.
Vanderpool-Wallace owns Auburn’s long-course record in the 50m free at 24.31 and swam a 24.43 in the prelims and a 24.38 in the semifinals, placing her fifth heading into the finals.
