Lazor, representing Team USA, clocked a personal best time of 2:26.11 to touch third behind Canada’s Kierra Smith (2:24.38) and Martha McCabe (2:24.51). Her time ranks second all-time in the Auburn long course record book.
The rising senior qualified second overall for the championship final after recording prelim swim of 2:26.37. She will return to action on Friday in the women’s 100m breaststroke.
In other action, McKenna DeBever continued her run of strong performances by dropping nearly two seconds off her personal best time in the 200m backstroke. Competing for Peru, DeBever placed 11th overall with a mark of 2:16.
