“Scott really stepped up on the platform today,” Auburn head diving coach Jeff Shaffer said. “It’s very encouraging to see a freshman step up and continue our tradition of excellence on platform.”
Competing on the platform for the first time this season, Lazeroff bested second-place by 35 points. His last dive, a back one-and-a-half somersault three-and-a-half twist free, was a new dive and he scored an 85.80 to put the title away.
Justin Youtsey finished 12th with a score of 296.55 and Pete Turnham was 15th (237.10).
In the women’s platform competition, Morgan Mullins was Auburn’s top finisher with a score of 219.
