Growing up in the shadows of older siblings can be a daunting experience. When they are both successful at what they do, the challenge to be your own individual can be even tougher. For Auburn junior Kyle Darmody, being in the shadows of an older sister and an older brother has both guided him into the pool, onto Auburn’s swimming team and possibly a life in the Marine Corps post-graduation.
“I got into swimming at age 4 or 5 and, really, I joined because my older brother and sister were doing it and they were bringing home medals,” Darmody said.
