Vitarius, a senior, swept the backstroke events and was on the winning 200 medley relay as Auburn won its home opener, 169.5-130.5. The Kingwood, Texas, native won the 200 backstroke in a NCAA B cut time of 1:57.58, almost a second-and-a-half faster than second place. She also tied for the win in the 100 backstroke in a NCAA B cut time of 54.15. She began the meet with a 26.22 leadoff leg for the winning 200 medley relay.
Vitarius has now swept the backstroke events in both of Auburn’s dual meets this season, also doing it at Alabama in the season opener on Oct.
