In today’s world, most kids know which sport they prefer and specialize in it from an early age. Major League Baseball’s Bryce Harper had a bat in his hand at age three, was on the cover of Sports Illustrated and drafted number one overall by the age of 17, made his MLB debut at 19 and was named the National League MVP at 22. Tiger Woods, the world’s most recognizable golfer, etched a similar path. A golfing prodigy at age two. A three-time U.S. Amateur winner by 20. A major winner a year later.
Auburn swimmer Michael Duderstadt cannot be added to that list.
