Former Auburn swimmer and school record holder Zane Grothe finished fourth in the 400-meter freestyle at the US Swimming Trials and current diver Scott Lazeroff took 11th on the platform at the US Diving Trials on Sunday evening.
Grothe, who entered the night session as the top overall seed after touching in 3:47.03 Sunday morning, swam a 3:45.60 in the finals, getting out-touched by Connor Jaeger (3:43.79), Conor Dwyer (3:44.66) and Townley Haas (3:45.04).
In the diving competition, Lazeroff held his spot from the semifinals, placing 11th with a final score of 1029.
