A familiar name is returning to Auburn.
Stephen Davis Jr., a three-star athlete in the 2016 class, announced Sunday on Twitter that he has committed to the Tigers. He is the son of former Auburn running back Stephen Davis, who also played 11 seasons in the NFL.
The younger Davis, who is expected to enroll next Sunday, did not sign on National Signing Day in February due to a “family issue,” he told AL.com last month. He previously had been committed to Auburn from August 2014 to September 2015.

While it’s unknown which position Davis (6 feet 4, 215 pounds) will play at Auburn, he did play safety and running back in high school at Dutch Fork in Irmo, South Carolina.
