AUBURN, Ala. – Dominant pitching carries No. 3/2 Auburn softball to a 2-1 win over Longwood and opens up Pink Weekend at Jane B. Moore Field on Friday evening.
"Phenomenal pitching tonight," head coach Clint Myers said after the game. Rachel (Walters) and Makayla (Martin) both were out there putting zeroes on the board. We just didn't swing. We weren't managing the count."
Walters (6-2) earned the win tossing five innings of three-hit ball and adding a trio of strikeouts. Martin picked up second save of the season allowing one hit and dealing four strikeouts with neither pitcher allowing a walk.
