AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn softball is headed back to the NCAA softball tournament as one of the nation’s eight top seeds.

The Tigers were seeded fourth nationally by the NCAA on Sunday night in the same weekend Auburn swept three nationally-ranked teams on the way to the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship. The Tigers beat LSU 7-1 in the title game Saturday.

Auburn will begin regional play at its own Jane B. Moore Field this weekend. If Auburn survives that regional, it will host a Super Regional the following weekend by virtue of being awarded a national seed.
