The tournament will run July 16-19, the same week of the British Open. While the world’s top players will be playing at The Open, several very good players will be in Opelika — six of the expected golfers are major winners and eight have won a PGA Tour event in the last two years.
“I think overall the mix of talent is there,” tournament manager John Marovich said.
