“It was loud and it was fun,” said Fulmer, who was the Volunteers’ coach from 1992-2008. “A lot of fun.”
It was fun because Fulmer and his newly found friends watched Denver quarterback Peyton Manning do something extraordinary yet again: Less than two months away from his 40th birthday, he led the Broncos to a 20-18 win over the New England Patriots and a berth in Super Bowl 50.
“I am so proud of him and for him,” said Fulmer, Manning’s coach from 1994-1997. “The whole thing is like a fairy tale. But that is what Peyton does.
