For all the talk about how SEC quarterbacks have struggled of late, half of the 10 best single-season passing totals in league history have come in this decade.
Johnny Manziel in 2013 and Chad Kelly last season have topped the 4,000-yard mark – just the second and third SEC quarterbacks to do so – this decade. And Aaron Murray in 2012, Ryan Mallett in 2010 and Dak Prescott last season also rank in the top 10 in league history in single-season passing yards.
Just four SEC schools – Ole Miss with Kelly, Texas A&M with Manziel, Kentucky with Tim Couch and Missouri with Chase Daniel – have had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a season.
