Sean White will remain as Auburn’s starting QB, but more is needed

AUBURN, Ala. – Despite a mediocre performance in last week’s loss to Texas A&M, Sean White will remain Auburn’s starting quarterback.

White was 18-of-27 against the Aggies, but the completions went for just 126 yards. That’s just 7.0 yards per completion and an embarrassing 4.7 yards per attempt. But Tigers coach Gus Malzahn stood by the quarterback Tuesday and said the blame for the poor offensive performance against A&M was on the coaching staff.

“We feel like he gives us the best chance of winning,” Malzahn said. “We have to be better around him and we have to put him in better situations from a coach’s standpoint.
