The best in the swimming world are in Budapest for the 2017 FINA World Championships, July 23-30, and this year there will be nine current or former Auburn swimmers competing.
“World Championships are just as important to the swimming community as the Olympics are,” Auburn head coach Brett Hawke said. “I am eager to see how our athletes perform against the best in the world again this summer.”
Zach Apple, who will be a junior at Auburn this fall, and Zane Grothe, who competed at Auburn from 2010-14, both swam their way on to the United States team during the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships earlier this month in Indianapolis.
