Auburn continued its strong run national signing day by adding a commitment from defensive tackle Derrick Brown, the fifth-ranked defensive tackle and the ninth-ranked player overall in the ESPN 300, committed to the Tigers. The five-star prospect chose Auburn over Mississippi State, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.
Brown has been tight-lipped about his recruitment but visited Mississippi State in November followed by a trip to Alabama in December. Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia all received visits from the talented defensive linemen in January. It was the Jan. 15 visit to Auburn that eventually pushed the Tigers to the top of his list for good.
