Roc Thomas has learned to love contact.
He also rekindled his love-hate relationship with the spin move Saturday at Auburn's A-Day scrimmage.
The running back ran for 69 yards and one touchdown to lead all running backs. Several runs featured his sleek spin move, but he also ran up field and absorbed contact for big gains against the Tigers' second-team defense.
The performance impressed coaches, who have long wanted the rising sophomore to run upfield rather than dance around defenders.
"I was just trying to be patient more and trying to do what they really wanted me to do," Thomas said.
