The Tigers’ athletic sophomore running back likes to think he can take it to the house every time he gets a carry. It’s a positive mindset to have, surely, but one Auburn’s offensive coaching staff has worked to alter this spring.
On Saturday during the team’s annual A-Day game, Thomas showed he can adapt to the style coaches expect of him — while still maintaining his usual flare out of the backfield.
“I was just trying to be patient more and just trying to do what they really wanted me to do,” Thomas said.
Thomas carried the ball seven times Saturday, rushing for 69 total yards and two scores during the spring game, stealing the show among the Tigers’ trio of running backs competing for the starting job in the backfield.
