Picking a QB would be a smart move for Auburn and Gus Malzahn

Three days after defending his use of all three quarterbacks against Clemson, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn stood in front of reporters Tuesday and finally admitted that maybe his plan for the season opener didn’t work so great after all.

“We thought it was a good plan,” Malzahn said. “Obviously, it wasn’t. The changing in and out hurt our tempo.”

Sean White started the game for Auburn last Saturday. He was “the guy,” according to Malzahn. But that turned out to be just smoke and mirrors, a way to throw off Clemson’s defense, because after two drives, Jeremy Johnson took over at quarterback.
