Pat Dye: Gene Stallings suffered ‘minor’ stroke

Former Texas A&M and Alabama coach Gene Stallings suffered a “minor” stroke Monday morning, former Auburn coach Pat Dye said. Stallings was waiting to board a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Huntsville, Ala.

Stallings was set to speak at the “An Evening with Legendary Coaches Pat Dye and Gene Stallings.” Dye says events scheduled for Huntsville on Monday and Montgomery, Ala., on Tuesday have been postponed.

The stroke was said to have happened between “10:30 or 11 a.m.” Stallings is said to be stable and communicating.

Dye tweeted out the news.
