“I just focused on watching the ball in and slow things down in my mind,” Burton said. “It was my shot in front of all these people.”
Burton was seemingly the only person who could slow down Auburn’s first-team defense on Saturday during the Tigers’ annual A-Day game. After replacing eight starters on that side of the ball this offseason, Auburn’s offense played well during the spring game at Jordan-Hare Stadium, putting up 24 points in the first half while scoring on four of its first six possessions — each of which lasted fewer than 3 minutes.
"I'm very confident (in the offense); as long as we make plays down the field vertically, at least eight down-the-field plays (per game), we are going to be very successful,” Johnson said.
