AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 16 Auburn women's tennis team fell short against No. 4 Vanderbilt to open SEC play, losing 4-1 in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday.
In doubles, Vanderbilt started off hot, clinching the doubles point in the first two sets. Christina Rosca and Amanda Meyer won the first set for the Commodores with a 6-2 win on court three over Auburn's freshman tandem of Madeline Meredith and Jaeda Daniel. Emma Kurtz and Emily Smith clinched the point by defeating Auburn's Georgie Axon and Caroline Turner 6-3 on court two.
