AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 15 Auburn women's tennis team was defeated by No. 10 South Carolina 4-1 on Thursday at home in the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
The Tigers and Gamecocks were neck and neck throughout doubles play, but South Carolina took the point. Ingrid Gamarra Martins and Mia Horvit won the first doubles set over Auburn's Georgie Axon and Caroline Turner 6-4 on court two. Paige Cline and Hadley Berg then clinched the point for the Gamecocks with a 6-4 win over Auburn's No. 67 tandem of Taylor Russo and Alizee Michaud on court one.
