Former Auburn and current New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Nick Fairley’s career could be in jeopardy because of a heart condition, and several of his teammates told NOLA.com last week that they “truly didn’t know” what was going on.
Fairley re-signed with the Saints in March for four years after a strong 2016 season, and Saints GM Mickey Loomis has said Fairley’s situation was “being evaluated medically.”
ESPN reported that a heart condition was first detected in a pre-draft physical in 2011, meaning he has played six seasons with the condition.
Fairly originally signed with New Orleans last year and recorded a career-high 6.
