AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn baseball sophomore right-hander Casey Mize has accepted an invitation to join the 2017 USA Baseball Collegiate National team this summer.
“This means a lot. This has been a goal of mine for some time now,” Mize said. “I’m really ready to go learn from and compete with these guys. This is the top players in the country and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to represent the United States. This is truly an honor.”
Mize is enjoying a stellar sophomore season. The Springville, Ala. native leads the Tigers and the Southeastern Conference with a 6-1 record and is first in the SEC and third nationally with 82 strikeouts on the year.
