Mancheno ties record, leads the field as No. 7 Auburn climbs leaderboard

STILLWATER, Okla. – Freshman Brandon Mancheno carded a 6-under 66 to pace No. 7 Auburn in the second round of the NCAA Championships Saturday afternoon.

Mancheno’s round was lowest of the day by any golfer at Karsten Creek Golf Club and matched Kevin Haefner’s program record of 66 in the 2000 NCAA Championships.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native leads the field by one stroke after two rounds.

Meanwhile, despite starting the round in 29th, the Tigers shot an 8-under 280 to climb an unprecedented 20 spots to move themselves into a tie for ninth overall.
