The Tigers (291-283—574) are eight strokes back from leader Kentucky (277-289—566).
Gilchrest, a native of Southlake, Texas, eagled No. 15 as part of his 1-over 71 second round to take sole possession of second. All-SEC senior Michael Johnson (75-69—144) and freshman Jacob Solomon (74-70—144) each made up some ground on Saturday and are t-18th at 4-over.
