AUBURN, Ala. – All-SEC senior Michael Johnson has been named SEC Golfer of the Week for the second time in a month and the third of his career by winning this weekend’s Schenkel Invitational with a birdie on the second playoff hole, the SEC Office announced on Tuesday.
Johnson, who had a 13-under 68-65-70—203 in the Schenkel, broke the Auburn single-season record with his third victory and is one shy of the NCAA lead this season.
With five career wins, Johnson is one win away from tying Jimmy Green’s school record. His second round 65 is the second-lowest of his career while recording his 11th round in the 60s on the season.
