AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn All-American Blayne Barber fired a 3-under 68 and is tied for 12th at 9-under, four shots back heading into Sunday’s final round of the Barbasol Championship at Grand National’s Lake Course.
Barber opened his third round Saturday with a birdie on the first hole and bogeyed the fourth. The Auburn, Ala., resident caught fire on the back nine again as he had four birdies at Nos. 11, 14, 16 and 17, including a chip in on the par 5 16th.
“Every day’s just kind of been really boring on the front nine, and I haven’t been able to get it going,” said Barber, who was 5-under on his final five holes on Friday.
