AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn men's golf team is ranked No. 1 nationally with the lowest season stroke average in 2015-16 with 283.23 strokes per round.
Auburn, which had a lineup of one senior, a junior, two sophomores and a freshman, finished the season ranked eighth nationally in the Sagarin rankings, 11th in the Golfweek Coaches poll and 13th by Golfstat.
Auburn destroyed the school's team single-season stroke average which was previously 285.30 set in 2011-12. In fact, Clinard-coached Auburn teams have the four lowest averages in Tiger history.
Freshman Ben Schlottman, who became the first freshman in Auburn history to be named first-team All-SEC, had the fourth-lowest stroke average in school history with a 70.
