AIKEN, S.C. -- Auburn rising sophomore All-American Ben Schlottman won the Palmetto Amateur by two shots by firing a final round 4-under 66 at the Palmetto Golf Club on Saturday.
The Advance, N.C., native edged Billy Kennerly of Alpharetta, Ga., with a four round score of 8-under 69-64-73-66--272.
"It feels great to win such a prestigious event," Schlottman said. "My round today was really solid, and I took it hole by hole and managed to shoot a good enough number to get the job done.
"I played really solid on front nine, making a 30-footer for birdie on 3 and a 10-footer for birdie on 5.
