AUBURN, Ala. — Freshman Mustapha Heron stayed hot, and got plenty of his help from his teammates, as Auburn stopped USC Upstate 90-83 Tuesday night in Auburn Arena.
Heron scored 23 points and 10 Tigers scored in the win in Auburn's only home game during a mid-November through mid-December run.
The Tigers improved to 5-1 heading to Saturday's game at UAB. Upstate fell to 3-4.
Heron, Tigers' leading scorer coming in, was solid across the board, with his 23 points, six rebounds and three assists.
